What memories do you have of your elementary school years? Perhaps you remember the Halloween Carnival, or the Skate-O_Rama Nights, Art classes, the May Crowning, or even the spirited volleyball game against the faculty. No doubt you realize what a difference a quality Catholic school education has made in your life. Today as St. Helen School turns 75, we continue to educate students with a quality Catholic school education, preparing them for works of service in the Church and community, helping build the Body of Christ!
Oh yes, there have been some changes from when you were here, we are an all lay-faculty, the computer lab has replaced the playground equipment and the 6th grade classroom is now the 7th grade classroom. However, the quality of education remains the same and our Catholic identity is as strong as ever. I am pleased to report that we have seen a tremendous growth in our school, both in enrollment and student test scores. Since 2010, St. Helen School's enrollment has gone from 235 students to over 300 students. Our test scores have also been on the rise with test scores in Reading up 10% nationally per class and our Math test scores up almost 30% nationally per class. This dramatic improvement is thanks to the work of very talented and dedicated group of lay teachers and staff, which includes several alumni. We continue to maintain our Catholic identity while offering a faith based curriculum that includes the arts, physical education, the use of technology in our classrooms and extra-curricular activities including student leadership, CYO sports, cheer squad, choir, yearbook and academic decathlon.
We hope that you continue to enjoy those times and events that you have stored in your heart. Please consider visiting St. Helen School, I would love to meet you, give you a personal tour of our school and introduce you to our students and teachers. You can also email us at [email protected].
God bless you!
